If you happened to see the January 10th episode of The Learning Channel’s popular TV series “What not to Wear” you may have noticed some very large scale platforms and remote displays on the center stage.
Bill Borst our Service and Rental Manager and employee for over 30 years was contacted back in October 2009 and asked if two large weighing platforms with large displays could be provided for an episode that they would soon be taping. The idea was to have a visual presentation of the participant’s weight loss as compared to how much she would have not eaten to loose the weight.
Since a large crowd was expected for the taping, The Weightronix XR4500 remote displays were recommended because their high intensity LED’s that can be seen for up to 275’ away. Another factor to be considered was that on one of the scales the intent was to stack various types of food such as pizza, donuts, Chinese take-out, sodas etc. The other scale was used to for the show’s participant. For this, two Weightronix Salter 4’ x 4’ Pegasus floor scales were provided. These scales are typically used in warehouses and other industrial companies and are in stock at our facility for rental and sales. However, they were ideal due to the unique nature of the application.
